'Hudson Mohawke is an electronic musician from Glasgow in Scotland. His music blends hyper-real hiphop and rnb oriented dancefloor production with elements of everything from classic electronica and techno to prog rock, 80's soul and even folk. He has released several ep's in recent years, including the infamous OOops EP of bootlegs; his take on 4 classic rnb jams aswell as work under the Heralds of Change moniker with fellow producer Mike Slott before signing his deal with the world famous Warp Records.
The ever-growing global network of bass-craving music fans had been clamouring for new material since his lauded Polyfolk Dance EP was released in Jan09. On that record, HudMo’s hyper melodic drum-and-synth sidewinders only hinted at the panoramic pop magic that was to come and with it he found himself name checked by the likes of Rihanna, Goldie, Sa Ra, Busy P, Flying Lotus, Mars Volta & Crookers.
His debut full length album ‘Butter’ released in October 09, with its glossy, hyper-real pop production may sound as if it was cooked up in palm fringed LA and not homegrown Glasgow and therefore is as influenced by 90’s UK dance music as it is by golden era hip-hop.
Making his 1st mix tapes at 10, beats on a Playstation at 12 and DMC finalist at 14, this precocious 23 year old has wasted no time in translating his skills into proper productions which might just see him becoming the first Glaswegian to command the airwaves currently reserved for Danja, The Dream, and Swizz Beatz.
